The special operations division of the police department manages investigations, recruitment, training, property/evidence, equipment, uniforms, fleet and pouring permits. Special operations also participates in local and regional task forces and similar cooperative programs.

A significant function of the Special Operations Division is officer training.  Georgia standards require 20 hours of officer training per year.  Chattahoochee Hills strives to exceed the state standards in officer training by conducting in-house training courses and participating in joint training with surrounding cities and counties.
