Fitness Boot Camp
The Chattahoochee Hills Fire Department will soon be hosting its first
Fire Department “Fitness Boot Camp.”
This fitness boot camp will be 8 weeks long and will involve
outdoor and group exercise that mix traditional callisthenic and body weight
exercises with interval training and strength training. The idea behind this exercise program is to push the participants harder than they would push themselves and, in that way, resemble a military boot camp.

 |
The goal of the fitness boot camp is to provide the community with a tool to help prevent health related accidents, injuries and disease. Cardiac-related calls are common in the emergency medical field and wellness/fitness programs of this type are intended to be a proactive prevention program for the community. This class will be the first, of hopefully many classes aimed to “Keep Chattahoochee Hills Healthy.”
During the 8 week class, anticipate getting up early to run sprints, perform pushups, sit ups and various forms of interval training with little rest between exercises. In addition, there will be nutrition and dietary tips aimed at maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

 |
Classes will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, beginning at 8am at the Fire Station. Most classes will be instructed by Chattahoochee Hills Firefighters. The tentative start date of the program is August 16th. Classes will typically last 1 hour, beginning with a 10-minute warm up and workout time of 30-45 minutes.
Residents will be given first priority for participation. Participants may be sorted by age groups and current fitness levels in order to make the program most effective for all.
